Opiates - a major class of drugs that depress the central nervous system and are used principally to relieve pain. Examples include morphine, heroin, and codeine.
Opium - is a resinous narcotic formed from the latex released by wounding the immature seed pods of opium poppies (Papaver somniferum). It contains up to 16% morphine, an opiate alkaloid, which is most frequently processed chemically to produce heroin for the black market
Benzodiazepines - A class of drugs used as antianxiety tranquilizers. Some are used to treat muscle spasms, convulsions, and alcohol withdrawal syndrome. The most common side effects are drowsiness, confusion, and loss of coordination. Included in this class are chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, oxazepam, and chlorazepate dipotassium.
